Adams Opens Cooling Center for Residents - WUPE

As the National Weather Service extends their 'Heat Advisory" through tomorrow at 8pm, the Town of Adams has opened a cooling center for residents. The center was authorized by the Town of Adams Emergency Management and announced on the town's Facebook page.

The cooling center is located at the Adams Visitors Center on Hoosac Street. According to the post the center will be open and staffed for as long a deemed necessary.  The National Weather Service is calling for the heat and humidity to continue through Wednesday. Thursday's forecast is currently calling for showers and a high in the upper 70s. The complete NWS forecast is below…

A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight with a low around 69.

Sunny and hot, with a high near 91. A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm.

A chance of showers before 8am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8am and 2pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 90.
